Scuba Diving

Well Andrew has returned from his first scuba diving adventure on Halloween no less but advises he saw no gobblins under water just the ones on the boat hehehe. After 3 nights and two days of being on a boat, he hasn't found his land legs yet hehehehe. When he returned home last night, we grilled him on his adventure. We have never been diving so we were anxious to live vicariously through Andrew. We could have gone without hearing about the motion sickness hehehehe.

Andrew told us he saw many different aquatic species from Sea Turtles, Angel fish, Clown fish, Sea Urchins to a Baracuda all at least 10 times the size anyone has ever seen outside of the water. He advised us that after you get past the first couple meters you are then in the clear blue still water where he advises the only things moving are the living. He said there wasn't any current to speak of but noted the "Red Tide" was in. He accidentally swallowed some of that nasty water and forced himself to vomit directly after. Thank goodness he isn't sick. And thank god the vomit didn't attract any ferosious swimmers with big teeth hehehehe. Drew said that it was beautiful with all the vivid bright colors like some of us have only seen on the TV screen. Drew enjoyed a fantastic feast at a BBQ on the beach before returning to the boat for along napp.

Nicholas and I were hoping Drew would like it enough to take lessons as a trade to fall back on if all else failed. He can enjoy scuba diving from any coastal city and once he becomes a masterdiver he can train others as a wonderful means of income however seasonal. I would love to learn to scuba dive with my son as my instructor.

On the long drive home the group stopped at a fruit market in one of the towns. Drew bought me some mango and watermelon which is what I always request when friends go. The group, traveling home narrowly escaped a major accident directly in front of them which isn't a surprise the way people drive here as I have blogged about before.
