I'm BaaaaaaAAAAACK!
Wow, I have to say a lot has changed since I left. I have been gone for quite awhile but WOW. Things changed weekly in Abu Dhabi before we left and are still changing at the same rate. Everything looks totally different. Speaking of different, Dubai is my new favorite place. We are now in Dubai living near "The Walk" which I so enjoy. I always new the UAE had such diversity but Dubai I have to say, is the most diverse of the two Emirates I have lived in. Dubai is a bit more modernized than Abu Dhabi and has its own problems but also has its highlights as well. Like anywhere in this world of ours, there will be some bad seeds. The good seeds out weigh the bad exponentially. I absolutely love the restaurants and nightlife in Dubai.
The nightclubs are tasteful and are enjoyable by both my generation and the next generation. There is truly something here for everyone. Even if you don't go to the clubs, there are other things to do that cost little to nothing. Keep in mind it is getting quite hot here now so the outside festivities are becoming a task. Inside the malls in Dubai, you will find many things to do and to see.
Dubai Mall has an awesome Discovery Center with many different species of reptiles, mammals, and fish. The Aquarium is phenomenal! The ice skating rink is quite an attraction. I can spend hours watching the people skate and try to skate. I have watched them get better and better as I was here when the mall had its grand opening in 2008.
I plan to be around for a while this time and will try to keep you up to date on whats new in Dubai. I have to put my writing head back on so check back often.

No longer an Expat
Well, "All Good Things Must Come To An End." We are no longer expats in the UAE! We flew out of Abu Dhabi just over a week ago. We, myself and my husband, miss it just like we knew we would. We hope to return one day soon. One never knows what the future has instore though. We may try for the UK next but until then, we will try to soke up some tropical sun and views.
We are back in Jamaica and I have to say, it is more beautiful than when I left 16 months ago. I imagine after looking at a sea of concrete buildings and ocean of sand all around us in the UAE, any greenery is going to be twice as beautiful. I am not sure if I will continue this blog as "As an Expatriote in the Middle East Region" or change it so as to continue blogging. Otherwise I will create a new blogspot for Jamaica specifically. What do you think I should do? I guess if I don't get any responses, I may just give up blogging all together. Til next time...be well.
