Snow falls on my vacation

Don't get me wrong, I love snow. For some reason the snow waited for me to arrive and has pretty much kept me on lock down. I thought this would be the perfect time to post another blog with pics to show how beautiful it truely is

Vacation in the Winter

Winter is usually not the time to vacation. I am in Ohio visiting family for a couple of months. I am happy happy happy to see my family of course, but I have pretty much been on winter lock down since I got here. It has been unseasonably cold (sub-zero degree temps) and I have already shoveled snow twice. It is truely a beautiful sight and the smell of winter is great. I would much rather see it from a distance. I am here for me and family. I won't be snow sledding or skiing forget it, no way no how.

My family all look fantastic and happy which is always nice to see. I probably won't be blogging much while I am here so just check back off and on to see if anything really exciting developed ;)

Happy inauguration (Obama Day) on the 20th. Will you be watching? I will.

Nicholas and our Host, Tony

First off let me say that you absolutely cannot plan to breeze in and straight out even if you think you don't know anyone. Why you ask? because everyone knows everyone one way or another through someone else. I love this about Jamaicans.
The Jamaican community is bigger than Nicholas and I imagined. I understand that it is also growing. We met people that were patients of Nicholas' grandfather (Babba) A. F. Brown to his patients. They went on about how much they loved him and how he was such a great doctor.
We were fortunate to be invited to a Jamaican gathering for brunch and of course drinks of all kinds. We had plantain, ackee an salt fish, bread pudding, fruit salad, rundown, king fish, salmon, homemade ginger beer and mango wine, and cold lemon tea from the actual lemon grass plant to mention a few items on the glorious menu. Allyson and Tony were fantastic hosts and we certainly hope to be invited back for the next brunch. Andrew was being taught how to play blackjack while Nicholas and I got caught up on the goings on since his graduation.

PICTURES OF COURSE maybe you recognize some of the new friends we've made. Unfortunately, I was not blessed with the best memory, I do not remember everyone's name.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

May this year be better for all of us.

Families Abroad

Okay I know some of my readers are diligently looking at pictures in hopes to see a loved one and to try to get a feel for what their loved ones are seeing and doing. Those of you that want to know something specific or have a family member here, and you know where they are, and you have questions or just want a recent picture; all you have to do is...ASK. If it is in my power, I will locate the answer to your question or maybe even your loved one and take a picture to post on here for you. Of course as always, your identity can remain private. You must realize that the pictures posted on here are seen by anyone and everyone. With that said, I want to reach out to you and your families.

Of course for those who do not understand how it works; at the end of every blog, there is an opportunity for you to respond or ask your question. Click on the comment area and follow the instructions (all of them). You can make up a name for yourself if you do not want your real name to show. I do moderate all comments and will post comments of those who do not state whether to post or not to post. You also can send an email to me which alot of people seem to prefer. Either way, which ever way you choose to contact me is up to you.
